Installing vinyl flooring over concrete

How should I install flooring over fresh concrete? How do you lay vinyl flooring over concrete? What type of floor is good to put over concrete? Although the flooring comes in a variety of forms, planks are installable with a minimal amount of tools and measuring. The hardest part of the job is often cleaning and leveling the concrete base.


After the concrete base is ready, lock the vinyl planks together to install your new floor. However, some people prefer to add another thin layer of subflooring between the concrete and vinyl. This additional layer can improve insulation and should make your vinyl plank flooring warmer and less resonant. Make sure that the concrete surface is clean and will adhere to the tile.


Take the vinyl tiles and place them in the center of the room where the lines bisect. Tape a large piece of plastic over the concrete floor, securing all edges with duct tape.
